Terms & Conditions — Stealth Vault

CRITICAL DISCLAIMER: Stealth Vault is a decentralized, local-only application. The developer has no access to your files, keys, or passwords. Data recovery is impossible if you forget your PIN, lose your device, or delete the application. The Software is provided on an "AS IS" basis.

1. Agreement to Terms

By cloning, downloading, installing, viewing, or accessing any part of the Stealth Vault source code or binary applications (the "Software"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, do not download, install, or use the Software.

2. Permitted Use

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, you are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and run the Software on your personal Android device solely for:

Personal, non-commercial security use.
Educational evaluation and analysis of the source code.

3. Proprietary License Restrictions

Unlike open-source projects under MIT or Apache, Stealth Vault is released under a Custom Proprietary License. All rights, title, and interest in and to the Software, including source code, assets, UI layouts, and branding remain the exclusive intellectual property of the author, Subhan Haider.

The following actions are strictly prohibited:

✘ App Store Uploads: You may NOT upload, publish, or distribute the Software (or any derivative or modified versions of it) to any app store or distribution platform, including the Google Play Store, Apple App Store, Amazon Appstore, F-Droid, or Huawei AppGallery.
✘ Commercialization: You may not sell, rent, lease, sublicense, or use the Software or its source code for any revenue-generating activities or commercial projects.
✘ Third-Party Redistribution: You may not distribute pre-compiled APKs or modified code to third parties without express prior written consent from the author.

4. User Responsibilities & Data Integrity

You understand and acknowledge that:

No Backups: The developer does not provide cloud synchronization. Backup and retrieval of vault files are exclusively the user's responsibility.
PIN Safety: You must remember your PIN. If you forget your passcode, the data is permanently encrypted and lost.
Uninstall Behavior: Uninstalling the application will delete the private directories, causing immediate, permanent deletion of all encrypted vaults. Always decrypt and export your media prior to uninstalling the application.

5. Modification of Code

You are permitted to modify the source code for personal, educational, and testing purposes. However, those modifications must remain private and cannot be republished, redistributed, or submitted to any marketplace under your name or any other name without explicit written authorization.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. IN NO EVENT SHALL THE AUTHOR OR COPYRIGHT HOLDERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIM, DAMAGES, OR OTHER LIABILITY, WHETHER IN AN ACTION OF CONTRACT, TORT OR OTHERWISE, ARISING FROM, OUT OF, OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE SOFTWARE OR THE USE OR OTHER DEALINGS IN THE SOFTWARE.

7. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL THE DEVELOPER (SUBHAN HAIDER) BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, FILES, PHOTOS, VIDEOS, PROFITS, OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE APP.

8. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the country/state of the author, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
